We've been stateside just over a week. Tonight we are enjoying our first fire of the season.

It is a little scary how it feels like we never left. There are subtle changes that make us realize we were gone though...

Cappy got seriously gray in the face, and amazingly transformed into our ideal lazy mastiff.
Liam turned 2 a few days after we returned.

I don't know if he understood what it meant to celebrate a birthday, but he definitely enjoyed his day of random presents and his new Thomas Trike.

Plus, thanks to the bummer of a summer Seattle had while we were gone blueberries are still ripe for picking!

Last year Liam was toted on Josh's back while we picked, he couldn't yet walk. Hard to believe a year later he was happily picking with us, and talking non-stop!

I'd say blueberry picking was a hit with Liam!

We are still a bit jet lagged. We took Liam for a burger and fries and he asked for rice and noodles. And, we aren't even 100% unpacked yet. We miss our walking every where, hoping trains, and non-processed food life in Japan. But, it is definitely nice to be home.
